It’s rarely the case today, but we believe that all commercial buildings should have great connectivity by default - robust core internet infrastructure and a seamless way for businesses to lease space, flip a switch, and turn on fast and reliable internet. WiredScore recently joined forces with Meter to make this a reality, and we’re hiring a Head of Business Development, based in Chicago, to drive adoption of WiredScore and Meter’s solutions in the Midwest real estate ecosystem to further our mission of making connectivity a utility.
Who you are
- You have experience in revenue-generating sales or business development roles.
- You know real estate and your market’s ecosystem, cold. Whether as an asset manager, broker, or technology professional who sells into the market, you have the relationships and understand what drives decision-making to drive meetings, qualified opportunities, and closed opportunities.
- You are a true hunter who owns deals from the first conversation to close, and can build pipeline from scratch.
- You create structure quickly when the playbook is still being built.
- You bring credibility, commercial judgment, and executive presence to senior stakeholders.
- You are open to regular travel and ideally live close to an international airport.
- You are a collaborative and self-sufficient operator who can work effectively with teams, including Customer Success, Engineering, and Marketing, while independently driving projects forward from planning through to execution.
Your goal is to first establish and then cement Meter and WiredScore’s position as the leader in digital connectivity for real estate by inking partnerships with real estate owners to install Meter in their vacant spaces and certify their buildings with WiredScore’s products. You’ll be measured on your ability to drive awareness of Meter and WiredScore in your market and the speed and scale at which the ecosystem adopts our solutions. Success means that every major broker, real estate owner, property manager in your market knows how Meter and WiredScore’s offerings can help them differentiate their buildings, and a meaningful portion of buildings in your market have signed up to do just that.
In the first 6 months, you will
- Map your territory, covering key assets, ownership groups, brokers, property managers, and ecosystem influencers.
- Open qualified opportunities across WiredScore and Meter through outbound, referrals, and market relationships.
- Become the face of the market for WiredScore and Meter to the real estate community across the Midwest, fostering deeper relationships with our existing customers and forging new ones with prospects.
- Source, qualify, and close opportunities with real estate owners to install Meter in their vacancies and certify their buildings for WiredScore and SmartScore.
- Generate tenant demand via targeted partnerships with brokerages across your market, and work with the Meter Sales team to close tenant opportunities.
- Share market feedback that sharpens our messaging, positioning, and combined go-to-market playbook.
